Be Prepared with the Right Equipment
If you don’t have a table saw, you can’t rip a sheet of plywood. If you don’t have a lawn mower, you can’t mow the lawn. If you don’t have a screwdriver, you can’t screw in a screw.
If you don’t have the right equipment to get a job done, you just can’t complete a job effectively. You can always create workarounds, but the fact is that it is much harder to hammer a nail in with a rock than it is with a hammer. Make sure you have the right equipment for the task you are planning on completing.
If you are going to a one-one-training, you should have:
- Sweat towel
- A ball
- Your journal
- Gloves if you are a keeper
If you are going to a team game, you should have:
- your uniform on
- shin guards
- your back-up kit
- sweat towel
If you are a parent, you should have your:
- Umbrella for sunny or rainy days
- Snacks during the game
- Phone charged to take pics
- Sunglasses if it’s sunny
If you are a coach, you should have:
- Your line up ready
- Warm up planned out
- Backup line up for changes during the game
- Warm up for subs
- Tasks for assistant coaches
- Tasks for team managers
- Tasks for captains
It doesn’t matter what role you play in the sport; whatever sport it is, you need to make sure you have the correct tools for the job.
These are just some generalized check lists for soccer, I’m sure you have more jobs or activities that you need to bring certain types of tools with you to complete.
